Fraudulent students being caught!

If you are a student and you live on your own, you’ll receive more Student Allowence than you would living at your parent’s. That’s nice, because free money never hurts. Off course there are some students who take disadvantage of that. These leeches live a luxurious life at their parents while they are registered at a different address! Luckily the government announced a man hunt on these students earlier this year.

Since January 2012 students can expect unannounced visits from inspectors of DUO and the municipality. Bed’s are being checked, underwear will be smelled and tooth brushes being tested. All in the name of the law!

So far, already 25 students received a fine for fraude with their Student Allowence. If their being caught, they must repay nog only the amount they have received too much, but also the half of that as a penalty. If you’re then being caught again you’ll have to pay back double the amount, lose your right for student allowence and risk criminal prosecution. What do you think, will this manhunt scare of fraudulent students?
