If you fail to plan, you plan to fail? A plea for freedom

Go back to that moment you had to leave primary school. A new, exciting, unknown time was laying ahead. I remember my teacher saying: this was the greatest part of your life. From now on you will get homework and tests. Actually, you didn’t want to leave your friends behind and step into the unknown, because it could only get worse. High school, a new chapter of your life. Boys, girls, parties, trying to enter clubs with a fake ID, you name it. What a wonderful time and again, you didn’t really want to leave all your friends behind. At High school it was great and you thought: it can only get worse. Again… And again, you were wrong. Student life was about to commence and if this is not the best time of your life, then you’re doing something wrong.

You’re doing something if this is not the best time of your life. This time you will be right when you say: it can only get worse! Because it will! Better you start living right away if you are not already doing it. A students life is a time full of opportunities. Grab them and don’t focus on your study only. You can catch the a train, go to college, listen to the professor and hurry back to your train again. But what are you doing then? You are rushing your living in order to finish your study as quick as possible and then what? Work from 9 to 5 for the rest of  your life?

A great example of this is that every person saves money for his or her retirement. One in six persons doesn’t even reach that age! I can see you thinking: what is he trying to say? Well, what I’m trying to say is: don’t just plan ahead. Be free and live here and now. You are a student, grab the opportunities while they are still there. You have plenty of time to work when you’re finished studying.

Maybe you’re thinking, this is just another stupid student, only busy going out and rapidly making it towards the study penalty. Well, this is not the case. Maybe I will be delayed, but I am not one of the many students who just rushed their study and never experienced what extremely important things you can learn besides your study! People who make it later on in their life, are not those who were just sitting in front of their books, never meeting other people. If you really want to make it, then think outside the box and don’t listen to people who say what you cannot do.
